Morning Devotion...

"In us truth must be a living force, an active energy, an indwelling reality, a part of the woof and warp of our being. If it is in us, we cannot henceforth part with it. To walk in the truth imports a life on integrity, holiness, faithfulness and simplicity-the natural product of those principles of truth which the gospel teaches, and which the Spirit of God enables us to receive. We may judge the secrets of the soul by their manifestation in the man's conversation...the nutrient upon which a man's inward nature lives gives a tinge to every word and deed proceeding from him..."

This was so profound to me this morning. I am convicted to walk in the Spirit and "Let my speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" Col 4:6. James 3:10 says "out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren these things ought not to be so" What comes out of my mouth is an outpouring of my heart, how can I praise God in one breath and be venomous the next with my family or with the driver on the road who is not driving to my expectation...? If we say that we have the Spirit within, let Him always be evident...relying on Him to season our speech and our actions...
